The opening session of this exhibition was really lively and
informal. The whole building seemed to take a deep breath and
relax. The interactive area was busy all afternoon with plenty of
people of all ages coming along to make seaside collage postcards
and talk about and contribute to a larger collage, where they
could add pictures of things that they thought were useful/useless
and desirable/undersirable.

The exhibition provoked conversations about what we do with all the
stuff we chuck away and the way the Tomoko Takahashi has conjured up
exciting objects and installations out of debris and junk. Most people
identified readily with the garden shed installation but found some
of the other objects more testing. Overall there was a feeling of
summer fun with music and dancing on the terrace and a genuine curiosity
about the work and the implications for how we consume and discard our 'stuff'.

  3. The thing I like the most is the notices posted directly on the wall with black marker. Especially the 'Special Thanks' which has a mistake.
